There are sessions that are beautiful, and then there are moments that are unforgettable. This one? It was both.
I had the absolute honor of capturing my best friend Justin’s surprise 40th birthday party at Silverball Retro Arcade in Delray Beach, FL — and let me tell you, it was nothing short of electric.
The Perfect Surprise
From the moment Justin walked through the doors, the energy in the room shifted. Pure shock, followed by the biggest smile. You could feel the love instantly — friends and family gathered, laughter echoing, and that kind of joy you just can’t stage.
These are the moments I live to capture. The real, unscripted, emotional reactions that tell a story far beyond a posed photo.
A Nostalgic Playground
Silverball is such a unique venue — rows of glowing pinball machines, classic arcade games, neon lights, and that vintage vibe that instantly takes you back.
Guests jumped from game to game, reliving childhood memories while creating brand new ones. There’s something really special about photographing adults letting loose, laughing like kids again, and just being fully present.
Food, Fun, and Full Hearts
The food? Absolutely delicious. The kind of spread that keeps everyone happy and fueled between rounds of skeeball battles and arcade challenges.
But more than anything, it was the people that made the night. The hugs, the inside jokes, the “remember when” conversations — all of it coming together to celebrate someone who means so much to so many.
Why Moments Like This Matter
As a photographer, I don’t just capture images — I capture connection.
This night wasn’t about perfect poses or curated details. It was about:
Genuine laughter
Unexpected surprises
The people who show up for you
The memories you’ll look back on for years
And honestly, those are always the most meaningful galleries.
Happy 40th, Justin ❤️
Justin, you are so loved. Being behind the camera for such a special milestone in your life meant everything to me. Thank you for trusting me to document it — even if you didn’t know it was happening at first 😉
